Mirror, mirror on the wall...

E had fun entertaining herself in a dressing room mirror while I was out shopping last week....What a nut!

My Daddy brews beer in our garage....the next round...

Hubby started another batch of homebrew last weekend - this one is a lighter pilsner that I might actually drink! E was, again, very helpful with the operations...

Green thumbs up!

Our tiny veggie garden has been a bit of a disappointment this year. We did get one crop of great spinach, but the broccoli never did anything, and the tomatoes bloomed but never produced tomatoes. However, when we checked the carrots over the weekend, we were pleased to see we're taking a step in the right direction! E is so excited!

School is super!

E has completed three days of preschool so far....and she loves it wants more and more! After the first day, she asked me if she could go each day. This mommy is not quite ready for that, and honestly, I do think she'd get really tired if we tried that, so for now, we're sticking with two days per week.

The night of the first day of school, we went to one of E's favorite places - Chick-F*l-A....and after a yummy meal, we tossed pennies in the fountain at the mall. (E thought daddy's iced tea was pretty tasty, too!) A sweet, simple evening that made our big school girl SO happy!

Feta face...

Our E adores feta cheese. She begs for it when we go to the grocery store. She snitches it off my salads and picks the big pieces out of the feta container....we teasingly refer to her as our little "foodie!"

Budding artist...

If you ask E what her favorite thing is about school, she will answer honestly: PAINTING! Her class has "open easel" almost every day, and E's also tried finger painting and splatter/drop painting too. I will always treasure this piece in all its green glory....she painted it on her first day of school. I got a "green paint hands" hug that day when I left the classroom, and she came home that day with green paint in her pigtails and on her face....I'd say she had a good time! :-)

Smarty pants...

E has been having fun lately drawing on her magic slate. Imagine my amazement when I saw this:
She's been tracing letters for a while now, but this was her first attempt to write something on her own! You go, little girl!

Best friends...

I had the rare opportunity last week to have two of my best friends in my home at the same time....and it just so happens that these two friends of mine are also dear friends with each other....we all grew up together in the same church and private school. We all live in different cities (with one living four hours away!), so how fun that it worked out for all of us to be together for just an hour or so of sweet fun and fellowship while our children played. Such a blessing!

E's first day of preschool!

E had a great first day of preschool! And it just so happened that she was "Star Student" on her first day....she got to do show and tell, be line leader, feed the fish and so much more. We are so blessed to have a wonderful church preschool with a caring, Christian teaching environment for E. I know she is going to love every minute of it! And hey, I didn't shed even one tear! She was so excited, it was hard for me to be sad!

Are you ready for some football?

E drew this pic for daddy yesterday after lunch...it totally cracked me up AND totally amazed me. She made a "man" for each football helmet, then drew a sun in the middle of them...she said they were outside playing the game and the sun was shining. I am sure daddy will keep this one forever! Love it!

Preschool preview...

On Monday, E got to visit her three-year-old preschool classroom for an hour, meet her new classmates, spend time with her wonderful teacher and get a feel for what preschool is going to be like. (This after her having a crying fit because she didn't want to leave the house yesterday morning....she wanted to stay home in her jammies and watch Sesame Street....hey, so did I, but you didn't see me crying!...)
Needless to say, after she got to the classroom, she had a BLAST! Her class this year is three other little girls besides herself - all very girlie girls and all very advanced for their age. It's going to be a fun year! The real "big day" is Thursday....I am sure this mommy is going to shed a few tears....but I know my girl is going to love school and have a wonderful time!

Creative play...

Who needs a drumset when you have two wisks (or "wicks" as E calls them....can't quite get that word out correctly yet...) and a big cardboard box?

So cheesy!

E is such a goofball sometimes....
and is so proud of her new, big-girl haircut!

if not before!

Like father, like daughter...

See any resemblance? A little scary, eh?

The first pic is hubby when he was about two,
and the second one is of E, age three!

New friends...

We had a huge get together at our house last weekend, gathering all of our Bible study friends as well as some new friends for a BBQ brisket potluck dinner. We had such a fun time! And E really enjoyed having a tea party with her new friends, Lillian and Lydia! Fun times!
