Before I was a Mom....

(This is courtesy of Ben's cousin Jill....it's so true, I decided to post it here. She sent it to me after she read my "You know you're a Mom when...." post)

♥ Before I was a Mom I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
♥ I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
♥ I never thought about immunizations.
♥ Before I was a Mom - I had never been puked on.
♥ Pooped on.
♥ Chewed on.
♥ Peed on.
♥ I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
♥ I slept all night.
♥ Before I was a Mom I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
♥ Or give shots.
♥ I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
♥ I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
♥ I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.
♥ Before I was a Mom I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put them down.
♥ I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
♥ I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
♥ I never knew that I could love someone so much.
♥ I never knew I would love being a Mom.
♥ Before I was a Mom - I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
♥ I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
♥ I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
♥ I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.
♥ Before I was a Mom - I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
♥ I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
♥ I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much before I was a Mom.

Working Mom, Working Baby

I am so proud of my baby girl! She went to another PR business meeting with me today. I don't make a normal practice of this, but the meeting was at a friend's PR agency, and I knew it would be very short. The receptionist watched E while I met with a web designer for a project we may work on together. E did great! Such a little trooper. Helping Mommy make a little extra money! :-) ...and I had a fun mommy moment on the way into the meeting. I was carrying E in my arms, and it was lightly raining outside. She put her hands up on the air and lifted her face up to the sky, smiling and enjoying the rain. It was so fun to see her discover something that most of us take for granted!

You know you're a mom when....

-You were up for two hours overnight with your starving (growth spurt?), teething daughter, and are making it through the day fueled by countless cups of coffee and tea.
-You look down at your wedding ring and notice the diamonds are crusted with strained prunes...didn't I used to keep this thing spotless when we were first engaged?
-Your 11-month-old looks at you and says "haw-bum! haw-bum!" and it makes your day, even though you have no idea what that means!

Blogging rookie

Welcome to our blog! It's a new territory for us....we have Snapfish photo pages and my company has a website, but I hadn't yet ventured into the world of blogging, until college friend Kim encouraged me to try it! So I thought I'd start a blog as a place to journal our family happenings, daily miracles and post fun photos. ... All the news that's fit to print.... And all of the kid braggin' you can stand! :-) Enjoy!
